Visit the Blumhouse of Horrors this Halloween!

Downtown Los Angeles is opening its very first haunted house this year: The Blumhouse of Horrors. Jason Blum, producer of horror films including Paranormal Activity, Insidious and the upcoming Sinister, is the mastermind behind this production. If you’re staying in Los Angeles downtown hotels this October, buy your tickets today to experience a one-of-a-kind haunted house!

Blumhouse of Horrors is a fully immersive haunted house full of terrifying sights, smells and sounds. The site of the attraction is the 87-year-old Variety Arts Theater, which is currently closed to the public. The building has been called a “haunting beauty” even before Blum’s re-make. The attraction will have a vaudeville theme due to its theater setting.

Guests will travel through a 40-minute maze including the theater, dressing rooms and a hallway with a red and white diamond pattern, where decades ago a woman entered but never came back. The only way out is through a dark opening with more blackness waiting. After some struggle, you will enter a ghostly bone-yard to face more horrors, including ghosts, demons and dark magic.

The theater has been decorated with Victorian furniture and, swords, skulls, a circus wagon, old baby furniture, dead animals and a “goat boy.” The walls are lined with a dark material that seems to be inflated with air. Over 40 actors will play apparitions roaming around the theater and re-enacting their deaths. The story behind the house is that it was formerly owned by a demented magician who often called on Satan. One night, the magician’s wife, decides she wants to be part of the magician’s act. She climbs into his vanishing box and disappears forever.

Pre-sale tickets are available for $29 online only. General admission at the door is $35. You can skip the line with VIP tickets priced at $55.   Get yours today for a night of terror!
