Los Angeles is not traditionally a place for snow and ice even during the winter. However those staying in hotels near Los Angeles Convention Center can enjoy some holiday fun at ice skating rinks in downtown! There are two ice rinks in downtown Los Angeles this year, one in Pershing Square and one at L.A. Live. Read below for details on these incredible ice venues!
Downtown on Ice, November 16, 2012-January 15, 2013
Come out to Los Angeles’ biggest outdoor rink with the lowest admission price! Framed by towering trees and skyscrapers, the rink at Pershing Square is a place of frequent activity. Pershing Square is hosting a winter concert series, broomball games, and a Winter Holiday Festival as well as ice skating until January. In its 15th season, the ice rink is easily accessible by car, bus or train through the Pershing Square Metro stop. Underground discount parking is available with validation. Tickets are $6 per one-hour skate session and an extra $2 for skate rental. The rink is open every day: Monday through Thursday 12pm to 10pm and Friday through Sunday 10am to 10pm.
L.A. Kings Holiday Ice at L.A. Live, November 24, 2012- January 4, 2013
You can skate at Nokia Plaza L.A. Live this holiday season! Be sure to join in the skating, festivities and food that will be available at the end of the year. The rink is open Monday through Friday 5pm to 7:30pm and all days 8pm to 11:30pm. The rink is also open from 3pm to 7:30pm on Saturday and Sunday. General admission including skate rental is $13 per person. A group discount is available for groups of 10 or more at $10 per person. Military, seniors, and kids under 7 can skate for $6 per person. Visit a participating L.A. Live restaurant to purchase a “Supper and Skate” package for only $30! ($20 for children) The package includes prix-fixe dinner at a participating L.A.
