Those staying in budget downtown Los Angeles hotels may have heard word of downtown Los Angeles’ thriving art scene. Along with Downtown LA Art Walk and the Chocolate and Art Show, there is a new monthly celebration of art, food, music and culture in the warehouse district of downtown LA. Bacon Social features the work of over 20 local artists and photographers along with live music. To see a list of artists featured, click here.
Why is it called Bacon Social? 100 pounds of free bacon will be available to snack on along with a selection of adult beverages and tasty snacks. There will be a full menu of bacon entrees, and snacks including a signature BLT, bacon-wrapped meatloaf, Maple-Bacon Cupcakes and more! You can also quench your thirst with bacon-themed cocktails and a selection of beers or other adult beverages.
Four Los Angeles-based musicians will play live sets while guests enjoy art or play in the arcade with over two dozen games. To see a list of games available in the arcade, click here. Lyn Saga is up first at 7:30pm with pop songs inspired by alternative rock artists such as Weezer, Hole, Fountains of Wayne, Food Fighters and the Smashing Pumpkins. The Furious Seasons will play witty songs at 8:30pm. At 9:30pm, the Barrelhousers will perform, honoring blues, psychedelia, folk and noise. Riverside will close the night with warm, honest family music at 10:30pm.
Bacon Social is held at the Factory in Downtown Los Angeles at the corner of Myers and Jesse. The brick building features 7,500 square feet of space with 14 foot ceilings and a spacious outdoor patio area. Parking is available on Jesse St. and on the east side of Myers St.
